My third tadoku and my first real month long Tadoku (only finished about a book and a half last time). This will also probably be my last Tadoku for a while since I'm going to be doing an exchange in Taiwan and I probably won't have much time to read... Good luck to everyone who's participating! 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - Jumpluff13 - 2013-05-28 I'm gonna try too! I still haven't read a lot compared to most of the other people in the competition, but it's far more than I usually do so I'm happy Though I have no idea how people have hit over 300 points in two days...
多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - Zgarbas - 2013-06-02 Well, it is the weekend . Damn, competition is fierce already =/. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - dizmox - 2013-06-02 Yeah.. I have no way of keeping up. My weekends are just as busy as my weekdays, I only get an hour or two free to read at most. I wonder how much time other people are spending. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - Mandazor - 2013-06-02 This is pretty much all I've been doing since it started, with a few paper making and show-watching breaks. Well, and sleep. I've just been reading or finding fun things to read, and I'm keeping a copy of 氷点 in the bathroom so I try to read a page or so every time I'm in there. Though I'm probably going to have to slow down after today to study for a math placement exam on Wednesday. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - drdunlap - 2013-06-02 Ahhh miss one day and everyone at the top has read a novel's worth already? D: Seems like some people are getting a lot of mileage out of games... What are you all reading? I'm currently reading「手紙」by 東野圭吾 + newspapers. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - quark - 2013-06-02 I'm glad it's a Tadoku month - I've been squandering my 45 minutes of bus time to either read English websites on my phone or nap. Tadoku, kick my ass please. My goal for this round is 500 pages and I'm planning on finally finishing off the Sailor Moon manga (3 1/2 more volumes to go!) and after that I'm planning on reading the first volume of Kino no Tabi. After that, I'll took a look at my bookshelves and see what looks good. Have fun on this round everyone! 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - dizmox - 2013-06-02 I just finished reading Crest of the Stars volume 1 before it started. Mostly just aiming to get volumes 4 through 6 of Spice and Wolf out of the way this month. Want to finish off the series, but kind of wish it weren't 17 volumes long... if I keep reading at this pace I guess I can finish it off in 5 months then get back to Crest/Banner of the Stars. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - Zgarbas - 2013-06-02 I'm reading 国境の南、大尉用の西 by 村上春樹, and the manga 宇宙兄弟。Also, news and university websites. @quark: I love キノの旅!It's such a good read <3 @drdunlap in my case about 3 hours/day so far. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - tashippy - 2013-06-03 I'm reading キッチン by 吉本ばなな and ヒカルの碁。 When I am reading I try to keep in mind Kato Lomb's method that she describes in 'How I learn Languages' to focus on and sometimes write words and phrases down that you understand, not to get bogged down by unfamiliar expressions. I'm already feeling improvement after two days. I've been reading on my lunch break at work and when I got home at night. -Bkrmkr 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - drdunlap - 2013-06-03 tashippy Wrote:I'm reading キッチン by 吉本ばなな and ヒカルの碁。I don't know about Kato Lomb's method but this sounds close to how I learned to read regularly in Japanese. Unless I absolutely didn't understand something like half a page of text I would just mark down things I wanted to look up later and keep moving- being happy that I *did* understand a good portion of the text. Eventually everything got ironed out through repeated exposure and a bulked up vocabulary. 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - dizmox - 2013-06-03 Looking at one person's stats: Quote:2661.0 screens of game in jp for 133.05 pages.I wonder how they even kept count... 多読 Tadoku Reading Challenge - Tamba - 2013-06-03 Something like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tally_counter or a smartphone app that works the same way.
