Variety shows - Akuji - 2013-04-16
Does anyone know a good resource for watching or downloading Japanese variety shows? I prefer watching variety shows instead of Drama, because variety shows lack a story line so I can just pick an episode randomly every time I have some time to spare. But it's really difficult to find good material online. It's really scattered all over the Internet. So does anyone know a good resource for this? Or maybe some YouTube channels? I would be really grateful

You can get pretty much anything when it comes to variety shows on everyone's favorite Chinese site, youku. Its chinese, but searching in Japanese is usually just fine and retrieves good results. example:

A specific youku channel to watch is japanch. He/she uploads various J-variety shows regularly:

Another great site is Hello!Online. The site is idol centric but even if you're not an idol enthusiast I still recommend giving it a shot. They have a lot of shows on there like Downtown DX, waratte ii tomo, hoko tate, TORE, etc that just incidentally have an idol on the panel so their presence shouldn't be over bearing if you're not really into them. Another awesome bonus is that many of these uploads come with the Japanese closed caption file.
