Second attempt at RTK - Raizachi - 2013-02-22

Hello everyone! I felt I needed to post this for even more solid motivation.

About 2 years back I introduced myself on here with my ambition to complete RTK. Unfortunately school and life got in my way and I brushed it off for awhile..

Last Saturday I got back on track with a physical copy of the book in the hopes it would motivate me more than a PDF copy(Considering I had to spend money on a physical copy), and I've come back to it a better, more motivated studier. After 5 days, I've gone past my previous stopping point and am currently already at 276 Kanji with over 82 already twice reviewed in SRS. I feel much more confident at this attempt, and have learned several new techniques along with the tried and true mnemonics to solidify the Kanji to the point of not even having to recall the mnemonics anymore. This attempt I plan to stick to it and complete RTK1 once and for all with the help of this amazing site.

Good luck! I also stopped several months ago, about midway. It was a hassle to go and re-remember everything. I am finally now near the end -- Lesson 50. I need to slow down and review everything more thoroughly, but I am going all out to finish it all. For me, I guess next week I will be able to finally make it to the end of the book, but the end of the book is just the beginning of more to learn.

This site has a great number of supportive kanji learners. It is a treasure of information and advice. Use the stories section often. When you get past the 2nd section of RTK, the stories section on this site will be crucial for your success.

To be completely honest, throughout the first section of the book I gave heisig's stories a chance, but I just found more of a 'click' in the stories on here, or even my own twists on them at some times, so I feel like the transition won't even be apparent.
