I just watched "Why don't you play in Hell?"
*spoilers, don't read if you plan on watching the movie"
What a crazy/awesome movie.
I'm not really sure how the ending was supposed to turn out, though
Yes, everyone who died showed up at the end in the movie theater, applauding the completion of the movie. But then it cuts back to the kantoku wearing his bloody clothes yelling "F*** Bomuberuzu!!" while running down the road. So I was thinking it might be similar to the screenwriting montage on the beach or the fake invasion of the rival yakuza group, in which it didn't actually happen.

Is that where he got it from now?

Lemme guess, martial arts films are beneath you too. The extent of your knowledge on the subject is what you learned after you watched Kill Bill looking for something to thumb your nose at?

Watch Love Exposure if you haven't already. Fun, stupid, long, cheesy. Probably one of my favorite movies of all time. Pure fun. I wish Sono would release that 6 hours director's cut...

Also, カタクリ家の幸福 / The Happiness of the Katakuris, by Takashi Miike.

I don't think I've ever seen such a glorious mess. It's Comedy-horror-musical-with-sequences-in-stop-motion (???). I'm usually not a big fan of Miike's (save for a few movies, like Crows Zero and 13 Assassins, which are both really fun), but this one is just so... out there and free, and whatever the f*ck you want, that I really got sucked in. Just give it a spin.

this was too easy...it was sarcasm, obviously, alluding to films's premiere at venice film festival when one reporter asked sono why did he take that yellow suit from kill bill. and people like that later write reviews. do you now see why your previous argument was invalid?

i grew up on martial arts and horror films and am still a fan of both genres. but why are you constantly writing about me? maybe there's nothing that can be said about 'why don't you play in hell' after all?
