The default is ',' on my system as well, and it works normally.
Strange. Changing it to ',' is enough to make it crash for me.

[Version 4.5 (1-June-2014)]

I have some trouble with the software today. When I launch it the window is invisible. If I select the app from the taskbar I see that it gets active as the default input language switches to jp. Also if I copy a japanese sentence I can still hear the audio file triggering but the window stays invisible. Any suggestion ?

Edit : if it can help, it happened after I've unzipped the JDIC audio clips in the audio folder.

Hmm, I have no idea what could cause such an issue. I have unzipped the JDIC audio clips in my audio folder as well. I'll let you know if I think of something.

Hello there,

Thank you for your amazing program.
I ran into the exact same problem as TyroneLove as well. I verified all my .NET framework versions and they all seem to be fine.

Now it happens almost everytime I close the software. I have to delete the files and extract them again from the downloaded .rar so I can use it again.

That's bizarre. Can you describe in detail the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue? Also what version of Windows are you using?

JGlossator - Interactive Tool for Creating Glosses from Japanese Text - TyroneLove - 2014-07-07

I'm using Windows 7 64 bits. As for the steps, well I'm just using the software in my daily studies, copying words from the web, anki and while using agth.
But if I close it, then when I start it again, that's when it happens. So i've put the downloaded .rar on the desktop so when I try opening it and it stays invisible, i delete the folder, extract it again, open it and it works. Til next time.
It's not that much of a deal as it takes me a few seconds to do so but the first time it happened I was quite annoyed as I had copied all the jdic audio for nothing. Not really necessary anyway, the audio look-up is fast enough.

Just thought I'd let you know that I've recently changed my system drive for an SSD a I don't have that problem anymore. Go figure...

Update : it's doing it again.

JGlossator - Interactive Tool for Creating Glosses from Japanese Text - TyroneLove - 2014-09-30

A suggestion/request, if I may. Could you add the Kanji in Context reference in the kanji info window ? That would be aaaaaaawesome Smile

I'm a Mac user, but this looks like a great tool. I was wondering what the pitch accent database you refer to is. Did you create it yourself? I've been scraping an online dictionary so far, but it's a bit of a pain.

The data was extracted from various EPWING dictionaries.

Hi cb4960,

I'm trying to make a simple vocab deck based on Nayr's Core 5000 deck. I want to take all of the words in the deck (the keywords as well as other incidental vocab) and create a set of flashcards with kanji on the front, reading on he back. (The idea is to have a deck for quick review, as a supplement to the full deck.)

I've used jgloss for this in the past, but it is crashing when I try to run it on large chunks of data.

I found JGlossator, which seems to have just the capability I'm looking for, but I can't figure out how to write out all of the entries at once. It seems to want me to save them one at a time. It also seems like it's not loading all of the data from the clipboard, but I may be mistaken about that.

Is there a way to get JGlossator to do what I want, or is there another tool you could suggest?

Thanks,
Jason

P.S. I really appreciate all of the excellent tools you've shared with the community!

Perhaps Epwing2Anki is what you seek.

JGlossator - Interactive Tool for Creating Glosses from Japanese Text - jreaves - 2015-02-06

Thanks. It appears that Epwing2Anki takes a word list as input. I'm looking for a program that will generate the word list itself, i.e., parse out each word from sentences/paragraphs. Maybe MeCab is my best bet, but I was looking for something a little more high-level.

Maybe the Sentence Gloss add-on for Anki?
