Hi All
Has anybody come across such a beast? I've googled and found loads of analogue watches, But I think a digital readout of kanji characters would look really cool.
Just thinking of goodies to treat myself to in the name of Christmas :^>

I never thought about a kanji watch before, but the idea does certainly entice: that L watch linked is a perfect example of style over substance, but I can't say that I don't want one.

hmm fossil seem to have a lot of unortodox watches, they also made a palm pda watch, very cool gadget, but im glad i sold it again
though i would certainly buy a digital watch with kanji as long its normal looking.

My friend bought the earlier version of that Fossil watch here in Japan. I would have bought it too, but it didn't have an glo option which is a dealbreaker for me with watches.

Just had a letter through regarding the watch I bought from parcel force saying they want:
V.A.T.: ?11.30
Parcelforce Clearance Fee: ?13.50
That's a total of ?24.80, about half the cost of the watch with shipping!
I expected there to be an import duty and a collection fee attached to it, I thought (stupidly, it would appear) that the collection fee would be
a small percentage of the charge, NOT 120%!
So be warned, if you do want one of these watches and live in the UK, expect to pay about 50% more for the watch than you thought you would.

The collection fee depends on the mail service that delivers the package. Generally it's a flat rate rather than a proportion of the tax amount. For example, Parcel Force is an unreasonable £13.50. So, the worst case is an item costing £18 including postage (the minimum value for which tax will be charged), plus £3.15 tax and £13.50 collection charge.
I think Royal Mail was £4.50 the last time I checked. Incoming small packages sent by standard airmail go to Royal Mail, while incoming EMS packages go to Parcel Force.

It was revived by a spam post, not Asriel. Some loser from Indonesia advertising his "replica watches" blog. I checked it out of curiosity. There were two posts on there, and nothing for sale. I think they got their priorities wrong *rollseyes*.
