I hear many people talking about books like Genki, Japanese for everyone, and Japanese for busy people, but all these are physical books. I'm looking for a system what is a kind of ebook or online learning environment what gives my the same possibilities without having a book in your hand.

Well there's always Tae Kim's Grammar Guide which sure mostly covers grammar but it covers a lot more grammar than a textbook would. Then we have Imabi which seems to cover a wide array of topics. Textfugu is actually made to be a replacement for paper textbooks by giving you an ever-updating online-based textbook, however only only the first 'season' is free, if you want more you have to pay money either as a subscription or as a bigger one-time fee. However I know that the owner of Textfugu usually says that you can get a discount by simply asking and giving a good reason, so I don't think it's too expensive, especially when comparing to paper textbooks.

I'm sure there's more but you don't really need more than (one of) those I think.

This company advertises on the RTK site. It might be more interesting than traditional textbooks.

Thanks for mentioning mine. Smile

I just actually made a huge update to the site this weekend. About 98% of it has been checked my natives. If you ever have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

Thanks for your post.

I'm desperate, Japanese is difficult and I don't know where to begin, after I learned the kana I'm looking for a good beginners package. I'll try to look further here and look for a good mix of methods of learning the language online.

I see many japanese learning books but still very few good online learning platforms, I think that online learning is the future instead of looking in books, but most of the publishers stuck with physical books. For my personally, online solutions are the only option for me, hope the future brings more digital stuff.
