It's pretty sexy, and works well from what I was able to see. I like that they mix in production, recognition, and audio into their SRS system. OTOH, it's expensive b/c they operate on a subscription model. I stick with KanjiBox/KanjiDraw. It's good enough, and it's cheap ($5 for KanjiBox + $1 for KanjiDraw).

Thank you so much for recommending Skritter. At first I didn't like it, but then I realized it was based around SRS AND that all the books I'm using at uni are already available as down-loadable lists. This made my day Big Grin
Thanks!

Hey Thanks for mentioning the SRS and textbook stuff !

When I first saw the link and saw that they already give you the character to draw I thought it wasn't what I was looking for but after reading it had srs and textbooks .. I went through the whole tutorial and checked out the features more . WOW. Thanks for the skritter link !

here's my kakitori deck.
there's repeats because of the anki 2 update.
i know somebody came up with a plug-in to deal with that... i haven't tried it myself.
https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/3018723782

I created this deck manually in a gradual manner. I just converted from the default heisig deck with the kakitori in the front with my choice of my words. I also added words that aren't in the heisig books
myself. later on i started doing mcd for difficult cards like ゆう鬱. I haven't touched this deck since may or something because I cannot load anki on my computer and i cannot delete cards off the ankiweb so i haven't seen this deck in a while. nonetheless have fun.

speaking of people failing at writing

somebody wrote 東の方から神が起きる。から東方神起なんだよwwあっちゃんお前www in the comments so i guess she's not really a fan lol

There's a really neat handwriting input with Japanese support for Android devices:

I just found out about it from another thread, and I think it could really help with writing practice, rather than using the IME keyboard all the time. It's probably even better with a stylus, but works great on my phone.
