Not sure why anyone would still follow AKB48. Terrible singers, terrible actors, and mediocre-looking at best. After studying Japanese for a few years I'm really growing tired of the idol bands and crap like that. Always introducing themselves as one then breaking into a crappy pop song.
Maeda Atsuko clearly had terrible surgery jobs seeing as she always looks the same.

When AKB48 first started showing up on magazine racks everywhere, I had no idea why anyone would have any interest, mainly because Atsuko Maeda was always front and center looking plain as heck. Seems like at some point the schemers behind the scenes got wise and started mixing it up.
It was obnoxious to see the process of her leaving the group dragged out for almost half a year. Felt like an eternity.
Good riddance indeed.

LOL that's too funny. Her face is so annoying! That one big girl is super weird looking too. The only girl I like personally from the show is Sayaka Akimoto.

I like them very much!

Well, I'm gonna miss her.
She's not my favorite and she's definitely had her share of misses (AKB48 Kouhaku's Kareha no Station performance, the Moshidora movie, the Hanakimi drama remake) but at the same time, she was also the center behind a group that went from a live show of 5 people to packing Tokyo Dome for 3 days and achieving worldwide popularity. I can respect that, it's going to be hard to think of AKB without thinking of Acchan.
They follow them because they like the drama. It's a reality show that you're a part of. You get to follow the girls as they grow up and improve at performing. It's precisely because they're not the best that you follow them. This is a fact that almost all the fans acknowledge.

Another thing is they always announce important/shocking news at the big concerts ie maeda acchan's graduation, recently they announced that a couple members going to china (the sister group) and indonesia (or was it malaysia?) and they also switched up the groups setting up new captains and moving around members etc.TheVinster Wrote:Not sure why anyone would still follow AKB48. They have their talk/variety shows like akbingo and akb kyouwakoku. I personally love akb kyouwakoku it's a very silly but funny show. People like them because of their personality which you can really tell on their talk/variety shows. If I only saw the pv then i wouldn't be interested in them whatsoever.
If anyone wants to watch you can watch the 金スマ episode on akb48 and find out how they became "national" idols. It's been like 6, almost 7 years since they debuted at the akihabara stage when they had no fans to now with dome/stadium full of people.

Anyways, whatever she does from here, hopefully her dreams will be dashed and she'll end up doing av ;D

Of course, she'll never beat Tomomi Itano for the "most modified AKB member" award.

a couple of plastic surgeons have said that it is impossible for them to get surgery because they work practically 24/7 and have no time to take a break to recover from an operation.
however, magazine shoots are super photoshopped and japan's (asia's) makeup techniques are impeccable.

The world would be a better place if we stopped supporting shitty businessmen, record labels, and talent agencies like the ones responsible for AKB48.

Did you just register on the forum to complain about a post made 4 years ago?
kpop is a genre of music and is thus incapable of undergoing surgery.

It's pretty obvious that some girls have surgery though. Look at girls like Sakura or Harupi.

Don't really follow them but I wouldn't call Maeda Atsuko mediocre looking at best or plain looking.
Don't get me wrong, she isn't uber hot like Kate Micucci or Lauren Lapkus but that is raising the bar pretty high.

Right, the main appeal of AKB was that they weren't perfect professionals, and were therefore more personable and relatable to their fanbase.
Not that I like the group, at all. Being in Japan during the peak of their popularity a few years ago was unpleasant.

In what way? How does the existence of AKB48 negatively affect you?
He's referring to the way the girls in the idol industry are abused by those people and is emphasizing with them.
Anyways topic closed. Let's not post in years old threads.
