Help with buying a watch for a Japanese lady

#1
Hi

I want to buy a watch for a Japanese lady, about 30 years old as a marriage gift.
Price  between 15000 yen to 20000 yen.

I need ideas about:
1. Online Japanese shopping web sites
2. Brand recommendations

Thanks for your help!

You might be better off asking on https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/ or /r/japan.

You are likely to find more people married to Japanese women that might be able to offer some feedback.

On online sites though, http://www.kakaku.com might be good to check.

you can try amazon jp.Usually ship with 2 days. Brands in that range, fossil is good.for men. Not sure if they have female watches though. Seiko or casio also have reasonably priced models.

The problem with buying gifts like watches (or books) is that people have very particular tastes and preferences and no matter what you buy the person may not like it.

(It took me forever to by a new watch for myself, to find just the right one etc.).

If she is your fiancee it would be better to ask her friends as they would know her tastes. Otherwise, give money in a nice Japanese style envelope as it is the correct etiquette.

I've never heard of giving a watch As a marriage gift but I guess if you only know the woman it's okay. Also if she's japanese it doesn't necessarily mean she thinks japanese goods are very special. While I agree that Japanese goods are great value, I also know many girls interested in their LV, Gucci, Chanel, even Abercrombie over their japanese counterparts. You know the girl better than me and I'm sure she would be appreciative of any gift you decide.
